The Porvoo Light Festival will be held again on February 14 & 15, 2025, from 18:00 to 21:00. Are you interested in participating in Porvoo Light 2025 as a creator or producer of a sound and/or light artwork?

Do you have a ready idea that has not yet been seen at Porvoo Light Festival? Do you and your team have the ability to carry out a process that results in an interesting light and/or sound artwork in the Porvoo city center area? Remember that we expect the working group or artist to be able to coordinate everything related to the selected artwork. The area cordoning, cables, technology, construction and assembly, lighting and extinguishing of the work, and safety as well as other details must be handled professionally by the supplier from start to finish.

Visit Porvoo reserves approximately 75,000 euros for light and sound artworks to be realized over two days in February 2025. The event attracts an audience of 20,000 visitors over two days and receives a lot of media attention.

Freely present an idea for the work you would like to contribute. We expect the idea to be fresh and interesting, preferably inspired by Porvoo. In the narrative and method of implementing the work, themes can be drawn from Porvoo’s history or present.

It is important to us that the works do not feel out of place in Porvoo’s environment but have a deeper history or meaning that can preferably be associated with Porvoo or another current theme.

Proposals with production costs can be sent by November 15 to visitporvoo@porvoo.fi. We will treat all proposals confidentially. We reserve the right to further plan with the proposer for a desired final result. We also reserve the right not to choose any of the proposed ideas.

You can propose the implementation of one work or contribute several proposals. However, it is worth keeping the total budget in mind, as the goal is to implement approximately 5-8 works in different locations with the given overall budget.
