Porvoo Christmas market spreads joy yet again with a carousel and the novelty for 2023 is a cosy, covered fireplace
Christmas in Porvoo is full of feeling and it attracts every year thousands of visitors who wish to enjoy the services of restaurants and cafeterias, the atmospheric Old Town of Porvoo, the Christmas market and shopping. The Porvoo Christmas market is arranged for the third time and is a part of the eventful offerings during Christmas time.
The Porvoo Christmas market opens on the 25th of November in a familiar way with the winter event called the Winter Bazaar and thereafter it will be open from November 26th until December 12th. The Christmas market is open daily between 12 noon and 6 p.m. except on Saturdays when the market and the carousel are open between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Market stalls owned by Porvoo city will be placed at the market square in order to be used at the Christmas market and entrepreneurs and other agents may lease them at a good price. The market stalls can be leased at Porvoo city’s webshop.
Christmas mood is created also by spruce twigs, lights and the awesome traditional carousel which visitors can use for free during the entire month and always according to the Christmas market’s opening hours. During the previous two years the carousel has been popular, and it has been visited more than 20 000 times each year. A domestic animal farm will visit the area and a Santa Claus from the Santa Claus Foundation will visit the market during several occasions. Local agents may arrange small events in the area on condition that they are open to everybody.
The novelty for the Christmas market 2023 is a covered fireplace where visitors can enjoy the pleasant atmosphere by the fire. It is open during the Christmas market’s opening hours.
Santa Claus will visit the Christmas market:
2nd to 3rd of December from 12 noon to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
9th to 10th of December from 12 noon to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
16th to 17th of December from 12 noon to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
21st to 22nd of December from 12 noon to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Hemböle domestic animal farm will visit the area 1st to 3rd of December, 8th to 10th of December, 15th to 17th of December and 21st to 22nd of December from 12 noon to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
