PORVOO JAZZ CLUB: Antila, Saastamoinen, Mäkynen w/ Ebba Åsman

At Porvoo Jazz Club, vibraphone talent Mikko Antila, young master of the basis Mikael Saastamoinen and the king of the jug Teppo Mäkynen will combine their skills with Swedish singer-songwriter and trombonist Ebba Åsman. Åsman is a unique talent and a rising star in her own country. She has studied at the Södra Latin School in Stockholm and the Rotterdam Music Academy. Åsman has also written and recorded her first album at the age of 18 and her second album was nominated for the Best Jazz Album category at the 2024 Swedish Grammys.

Breaking boundaries and categories, Ebba retreated to a cabin in the middle of the woods to write her latest album. The result – ‘When You Know’ – crystallises modern soul in an enchanting way, as Ebba layers melodies with her singing voice over digital rhythms and her signature rich trombone sound. The album ‘When You Know’ will be released by influential London-based label Dorado Records, and this mind-blowing, melancholic masterpiece will be released in March 2025.
